Stuart - Once known as Potsdam, early settlers renamed the area "Stuart" in 1895 to honor business tycoon Homer Stuart. Palm City - Situated in the western section of Martin County, Palm City remains unincorporated in spite of the fact that it has attracted thousands of new residents over recent years.
